Important information

General

It is absolutely necessary to use a reed with guiding rods in the area of the monitoring zone of the CAMSCAN device. When you have installed such a reed together with the guiding rods in the vicinity of the monitoring zone, please check if it can be moved. If you do not have such a reed available, or the reed you have cannot be moved, the customer is advised to provide such a reed together with the guiding rods himself. This reed with the guiding rods must be available prior to the assembly of the CAMSCAN device.

In order to operate the CAMSCAN monitoring device, a power supply with a voltage between 115 V AC and 230 V AC and (dependent on lighting) approx. 200 VA is required. Please check, if you have such a power supply with this rating available in the machine switch box.

If such a power supply is not available, please make sure that, for example, a transformer or an additional connection possibility is available during the assembly process.

When you have decided on the position for the CAMSCAN device, please do not forget that both floor stands must be firmly anchored to the floor.
To do this, holes must be drilled into the floor - left and right of the machine - and then provided with floor plugs. The floor plugs are supplied with the equipment.

Connection Information (Standard)

In order to speed up the assembly process of the CAMSCAN device, the customer is advised to familiarise himself with the electrical connection work.

The CAMSCAN monitoring device must be connected to the machine switch box, using a 7-pole power/control cable. Please ensure that the cable can be connected as follows:

  • Mains Connection: 115 V AC to 230 V AC, 50 Hz to 60 Hz
  • Power Rating: approx. 200 VA (dependent on lighting)
  • Stopping Contact: The CAMSCAN control unit provides a potential-free, switchable stopping contact, in order to stop the machine in the event of a fault occurring. The set-up upon delivery is a normally open (NO) contact.
  • Reset Connection: The CAMSCAN control unit requires a reset voltage of 115 V AC to 230 V AC. This voltage should always be present when the machine is in normal operation. In the case of other machine conditions - when the machine is stopped, or when in "Inching Drive" - there must be no voltage present.

Connection Information (optional)

As an option, for the stopping contact and the reset connection there are further connection possibilities available. Please clarify with the customer if these connection possibilities are necessary.

Should one or the other of these connection possibilities be required, it is essential to point out this type of connection, since the CAMSCAN control unit must be set-up accordingly prior to delivery.

Stopping Contact - Semi Conductor Output (optional):

In order to stop the machine in the event of a fault occurring, the CAMSCAN control unit is provided for the use of a potential-free semi conductor output with the following data: U max = 30 V DC, I max = 0.25 A.

When using the semi conductor output, the wires 4 and 5 in the power/control cable must not be connected.

Reset Connection - Low Voltage Reset (optional):

The CAMSCAN control unit requires a reset voltage of 24 V AC/DC +/-20%. This voltage must always be present when the machine is in normal operation. In other machine conditions - when the machine is stopped or is in the "Inching Drive" - there should be no voltage present.

When using the low voltage reset, the wires 3 and 6 in the power/control cable must not be connected.
